This book collects emails exchanged between sets of two or three partners over the course of a semester. The writing is composed in two columns, alternating between from the left to the right, back and forth between respondents moving down the page.
In the case of an impossible to predict blank space or interval across the two columns of a page, that space is filled with black. The periodicity of these holes in the formalization of the electronic dialogue is the visual revelation--the main event and programmed accident--of the system.
